Project Title: "The Larry L. Hillblom Diabetes Camps"

The Diabetes Society of Santa Clara Valley received a grant from the Hillblom Foundation to fund multiple educational camps for children, teens and families living with diabetes. The goal of the camp programs is to increase diabetes self-management skills in order to prevent or delay diabetes-related complications. The grant also increases access to the camps for youth from economically and culturally diverse populations.

The camps located at Sequoia Lake in California's Central Valley include: Camp DJ, a weeklong residential camp for teenagers ages 13 - 17, the Larry L. Hillblom Camp for children, ages 6 - 12, and two weekend family camps for all ages that also provide education for parents and siblings to help support the child's diabetes management.
